Just brought to my notice is Laura Smith Haviland born into a Quaker family in Canada:

Unlike some alien atheists, a woman born more than 200 years ago who practiced equality & compassion in Michigan.

I salute her bravery & memory.

Newsflash Frayed........ Virtually everyone in the North was against slavery. She was far from unique.

@FrayedBear Whatever that is supposed to mean.

GFY

@Alienbeing thank you for your information.

You really are a pathetic inadequate example of a being when you cannot accept simple thanks nor have the intelligence to look the acronym meaning up. But there again perhaps you have simply led such a narcissistic life that you have never done anything before that merits someone saying "thank you" to you? I feel sorry for you.

By the way. How many North Americans actively participated in helping slaves escape to Canada?
Furthermore how many not only advocated education of the slaves but actually enacted & made it available?

There are times @Alienbeing when your level of argument reaches genius levels for its stupidity & absurdity.

@FrayedBear Why would I bother to look up anything you had to say? It is not important, why bother?

@FrayedBear Who cares how many helped? The fact is slavery has been illegal in the US for over a century now. That is what matters.

@FrayedBear I've been thanked many times for many things. In fact many people on this site thank me for correcting you.
