ANCIENT CIVILIZATIONS AND MASTURBATION

➼ As part of ancient Mesopotamia's (modern-day Iraq) mythology, Enki (Sumerian god) had his power intimately linked to his semen. It is through his self-emissions (you have guessed it right) that the world was "pollinated" with life. The Tigris and Euphrates river owe their existence to this very act. I must say this very much runs against the idea that you need "Two to Tango," at least for procreation.

➼ Greek civilization also has a colorful history when it comes to masturbation. A lot of pottery has been found where there is a visual representation of satyrs (men with tails and an erect dick) "helping" each other. As art generally imitates life, ancient Greek folks seem to be very comfortable about "MEN" getting down to business with a little bit of external help from their bros.

Ancient Greeks were patriarchal, but they were okay if women carried on with their "business". Archaeologists have found pots that depicted females using dildos. That is dope considering the male-centric world out there.

➼ Hinduism had a different take w.r.t. masturbation. The Laws of Manu (Manu was a sage whose views had an ever-lasting effect on Hinduism till date), which has rather detailed "instructions" on social behavior, is totally against any action that leads to the loss of semen, as it is key for procreation. It goes even further to state that men should atone if they get hanky panky down there on their own.

➼ Taoists from ancient China didn't have strict rules like the Manu dude had laid down, but men were encouraged not to go to town "a lot" on their own. There was a belief that excessive masturbation may lead to the loss of their "Yang".

Even men from ancient civilizations used to enjoy pounding the mound, lol. Some things don't change. Interesting bit of history there.

Why should it? . . . It starts in the womb for both sexes.
