"Racism" has become the universal excuse, justification and explanation in Western societies. So it is possible to ask whether the idea of a 'systemic racism' in our societies does not come from a self-perpetuating circle: the obsessive discourse on racism feeds the idea that one is a victim of racism, the idea that one is a victim of racism reinforces the analyses of the racist character of society, etc... ad infinitum.
"Systemic racism" has become the mantra that allows people to avoid any complex analysis of social phenomena, and to prevent any discourse that does not please the activists of identity politics. "Racist" is now little more than a way to discredit any non-conforming opinion; an instrument to make people shut up.

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.In some cases but we can also trace racist state-sanctioned disparagement since Johnson's faulty reconstruction plan. That created economic and physical systems, not the least being incarceration, which became systemic. George Floyd does prove that. But it can also be used to shut down a conversation, yes.

The first sentence is a terrible straw man argument. It goes downhill from there as anything resembling a logical argument. I guess he's trying to say he doesn't see institutional racism? His privilege is showing then.

That may be the way your preconceived mind reads it, however in reality the person who wrote the post obviously has more objective ability than you have.
@Alienbeing Anyone claiming institutional racism doesn't exist is living in a fantasy world, not 'objective reality.' All the rage these days, from anti-vaxxers to flat Earthers.
@Druvius Racism does exist, however I don't know what you mean when you use the phrase "institutional racism".
The artcle refers to "systemic" racism. Depending on how one defines that phrase, it may or may not be true.
Last, not being an anti-vaxer, or flat farther, one wonders why you interjected those descriptions.
Open your freakin' eyes and See not only the blatant systemic racism that exists...(George Floyd, anyone?) and it's horrible manifestations, but also it's corellary, the misogynistic attitudes towards women, the hatred of ''differentness"..when you beat down one group, you feel free to beat down others.

The concept of "systemic racism" is nothing more than a manifestation of politically correct propaganda supported by paranoid delusions. It's easier to go along with paranoid delusions rather than do more independent thinking for oneself.
On the other hand, racism is a very real evil, an evil that sadly still exists to this day here in the US. Said racism is not built into the system though, and it's intellectually lazy to blame the system as a whole while simultaneously supporting the very system you (not referring to you there) claim to be fighting against.
When it comes to systemic racism, I'm reminded of that saying... sometimes what you imagine is precisely what you'll get, and nowadays there's no shortage of paranoid and fearful folks out there.

If people stopped breaking the law and claiming victimhood after they got beat down for it; I think that would go a long way is solving the racism problem.
Beyond that; anyone that gets their feelings hurt over a few words is a pretty mentally weak individual that wouldn't offer a great deal of benefit to society in the long run. Nobody respects or cares about a pink and green haired crybaby or anything they want to wave a sign on a street corner for anyway.
Get over it.
@CourtJester A good number of perceived racial injustice incidents are from those who committed criminal acts, no doubt. Also right on the second part there, and most of those who are as you described above are clearly mentally disturbed.
