I suggest you look into Sufism.
The best introductory book on the subject is, " The Sufis " by Idries Shaw.

Being basically agnostic, no.

I tried it on for a month or two but it quickly evolved into agnosticism and then atheism. I had already went through a lot of Christian religions and by then I had finally kicked her into gear and was moving on down the road. I still like to feel at one with the universe but then I realize that I'm just a minuscule part of it.
