It pretty made sure I had an unhappy childhood.

Some moments of enjoyment, mostly at dinners or picnics. Mostly very nasty. I shudder to recall some of them - the hurt haunts me to this day.

One of the things that disturbed me the most was the story of the crucifixion. Even as a child, I found it brutal and disturbing. Even worse, I eventually began to suspect that many in the congregation got asadistic sexual thrill from the story.

I had nasty experiences in religions other than Christianity, too - misogyny, xenophobia, oppression, thinky veiled viloence (if veiled at all). Compassion, if any, only for those "like us".

Yuck.

Religion Christianity

I was listening to Stefan molyneux and I think it's something about him changing his mind about being an atheist and he was referring to atheist type people as people are wanting a handout like people that belongs to democratic party or whatever maybe the people on the left I get all mixed up on that and I guess he might have gone towards Christianity if you ever listen to Stefan molyneux he makes a lot of sense on a lot of things but he talks a damn fast I sure like your response to the religion

@James1403 He over-generalizes and buys into prevailing preconceptions about the laissez-faire attitudes of Christians. At least he's thinking.
