I saw a news snippet where woman who voted for Moore said "He's a born again Christian. Who am I to judge him if God has forgiven him?"
This made me sick.

That is the whole problem with the whole confess and be forgiven to wipe the slat clean ideology. People commit atrocious acts, confess and they are treated as if they never did anything wrong to begin with, as if confession made it all better.... without any consideration to the person(s) that were wronged.
