In order to have nothing it must be compared to something and if it is nothing or the lack of something it is a state itself ! Therefore singularity must have existed somewhere before it happened.I wonder if it was another dimension and how does a dimension differ from another universe? Please inform me.
I'm gonna go with no. In the same way that there is no such thing as cold. Cold is a word someone came up with to denote the absence of heat. Similarly dark is nothing but the absence of light. So I would say nothing isn't a thing. Its the absence of anything.
Physicist Lawrence Krauss wrote a book about this a few years ago.
Thanks
