A longboat dating from the Neolithic era has been found in the River Boyne. It has been dated to 3300BC to 2900BC. It was found by fishermen close to Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth passage tombs.
It would appear that 4 metres is way too short for a longboat. It is obviously a longboat, a significant find none the less.
