Monday I was given a steroid shot for an allergy attack.
Normally this would help my pain substantially.
However the last three days I've hurt so bad it's like triple the normal levels.
Now either the steroids didn't work, or they're working and my pain would be so horrific I'd be on the ground screaming without it.
Not sure which one....
I'm so sorry steroids are so horrible I was on Prednisone for 9 months and I swelled up like a balloon and gained 42lb
I have a problem with Steroids they make my pain much worse. They also make me fairly homicidal so I've told my Doctors "Never use". (If I'm unconscious that might save everyone else - but before that? Nope).
My first symptom to an injection of steroids is a fever. And feeling like I have the Flu.
Call your Doctor. It's not right that you feel this much worse. It's counter intuitive.
Normally they make the pain better but they make me hyper talkative, violently iritable, and the fucking hot flashes oh lordddddddd
But when in anaphylaxis i kinda need them.
I try to avoid them unless that because I don't like them and they gave me diabetes after long term dosing
@LadyAlyxandrea Had a coworker who was so talkative we all needed a gag order!
And yes anaphylaxis would be my 'okay ' button too. Though I've always hoped the epinephrine would do it. You've listed my issues very well. Though I was rather homicidal last time. Meh. ?
@LadyAlyxandrea My diabetes was set off by steroids...had a severe reaction to dust. I think it was the dust(I blame my ex; was trying to pack my stuff after I left him; thick dust was even making hives where it touched me). Epi alone was not enough: first time for that.
@CarolinaGirl60 I had that issue working in a shipping dept. in my 20's. I'm allergic to the cardboard dust!
