Today was pretty good. I slept 8 hours and managed to stay awake the whole day without a nap. I cleaned my wounds and took a real shower, washed my hair and everything. That was a little too gunho, alas, and I nearly fainted in the shower. But I'm squeaky clean!
Unfortunately it's now 5 am and i still haven't fallen asleep. And i have to be awake at 9am to go to Wichita with my family. Not looking forward to that nonsense. They're making me go to a sports bar and grill. Those loud and crowded places are not my cuppa tea when I'm NOT 4 days out from major abdominal surgery.
The reason I'm still awake, you ask?
About an hour ago my stomach has decided the gas in my abdominal cavity is going to start periodically STABBING AWFUL HORRIFIC LIGHTNING PAIN. Like, it puts spots in my eyes it's so sudden and sharp.
But it's over as fast as it hits. Unfortunately it gives no alert to when itll happen but it's been every....twenty or so minutes? Frequent enough that I can't sleep, but spaced enough apart that I don't call 911 thinking my appendix ruptured. Wouldnt that just be my luck though? lmao. 4 days after my stomach was ripped open in 5 spots and glued shut my appendix ruptures and I need to go through it all over again? That, my friends, would be ultimate irony.
Also, my remaining ovary is freaking out, trying to take over all the hormone balancing now, so while it adjusts I've begun looking like I just hit puberty again, while simultaneously having heat flashes that leave me questioning my sanity.
"Hurry up and sort yourself out little guy, I believe in you!" I mutter, rubbing the space of my abdomen over the single ovary. Talk about putting all your eggs in one basket Hahahaha
I have a large bottle of nyquil sleep aid next to my bed. I'm debating my chances of sleeping through my alarm if I dare use it.
I might just have to pull an all nighter and then sleep in the car.
Meh.
Also my incisions itch worse than poison ivy covered hives and chiggers wrapped up in fiberglass insulation and stuffed with all the wool sweaters. You have no idea how horrifyingly difficult it is not to scratch my incisions lest I end up sticking my finger inside my abdominal cavity. ?

But one was after my uterus was removed. I kept my ovaries though.
They had to kick back on though and were traumatized!
I woke that first week covered in sweat - changed my pjs - when they hit the floor? They squealched. It was crazy. Like I went through every stage of female reproduction in a week strange?
Also if you don't feel up to going? Stay home. I would not have wanted to get jiggled in a car again post surgery.
Of course they ran my colon and for a long time I thought the surgeon tied it in a bow or something? rofl....

Yeah I caught a glance of myself in the mirror and about cried. Wtf is going on with my complexion!?!?! I look like I have road rash all over my face. Also I'm going through every hormonal phase a woman has all at once! Ughhh
I did go because honestly I knew where they were going to eat and they have some amazing shrimp. I wanted shrimp. After we got home I slept 6 hours, but I have a tummy full of shrimp and that's the important thing.
@LadyAlyxandrea Well you survived - that's great.
And hey hope you had some for me. It's one of my most severe allergies and I LIKE shrimp.
Glad you got out of the house.
@RavenCT I ate so much shrimp lol I'm sorry you're allergic I know how it feels to like a food that kills you lol -longingly looks at reeses-
I love love love their shrimp but the place is always soooooo loud and crowded
@LadyAlyxandrea I can't have Peanut butter either. (sigh).
But I don't crave it either. Just shrimp.
@RavenCT man I was hardcore craving peanuts and coke for like a week. It sucks
