I wonder what presidence he is setting by downsizing toronto city council. He says he was getting a mandate from the electorate that effects 2.1 million people.I'm so glad the opposition an the gallery PROTESTED! at the top of their lungs until they were ejected. So basically what Ford wants is to do for the people of Toronto is to do more with less representation in their own dam city......An then the province.

Personally, I am wondering where Ford is going next if he gets his way with Toronto City Council, once that's out of the way then the question that comes to mind is 'Who's Next?' The last time the Tories were in power in Ontario they amalgamated and downloaded services to the municipal level of government, 20 years later and some townships and counties are still reeling from that blow.
Out here in the hinterland that is Kingston and the Thousand Islands, we are wondering how long it will take before Ford's evil eye turns on us and what we can do to fight it.

How the heck did he get elected? Did the people really forget how he was in Toronto? I don't get it. How are people like him and trump actually taken seriously enough to be elected? What the hell is going on with the world these days?

Blow back against a corrupt Liberal government that was seen to have been in power for too long and a very unpopular leader who was not only a woman but a lesbian had the conservative types just foaming at the mouth. Fear played a role too, the threat of a pinko NDP government with shades of Bob Rae's government had stupid people flocking to the populist without a platform or a budget, anyone who wasn't a lefty or a woman. I am ashamed of the people in my province and particularly in my home town of Toronto that backed Ford when they really must have known better. If I get elected in next month's municipal election I will have a long fight ahead of me defending my neighbours and fellow taxpayers on this little island in the middle of the St. Lawrence River.
@Surfpirate Wow, eerily sounds familure. Fear and a scapegoat can get you very far in politics apparently. I'm with you about feeling embarrassed, I am of the United States every day trump is in the white house doing something stupid. Hopefully the people will see the mistake they made and correct it soon. I wish you the best of luck in your election.

@Lilac-Jade I met Harper when he was just starting out in Calgary with the Reform Party, he was cold then but he got a lot colder as a person.
