Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.This may sound strange to some - my being a lifelong atheist - but I've read 2 versions of the bible, the King James & the New Revised Version (published on the 1970s I think). In the new version unicorn is changed to 'wild ox ' ...makes one think
BTW: reading it was not a pleasant experience, but I was tired of Christians telling me I wouldn't be an atheist if I read it. WRONG....made me more atheist, if that was possible.

I have read the bible cover to cover three times, and one time was a chronological order bible. Some of the bible is truly horrifying. It was handy to have the knowledge when people would quote the bible at me, I could correct them or refute it with another verse. I haven't done that in years, now I just shrug and say "whatever".
I read the KJV cover to cover, and it definitely made me more of an atheist. It was a difficult read, and I think it is impressive when anyone can manage it and not fall asleep while reading.
Cats are, however, mentioned in the Quran. Apparently, Muhammad liked cats.
