My cat is back! He had been gone for 5 days. He drank for 40 minutes and then found the cat that I had bought from a rescue just the day before. They hated each other. I brought the other cat back-the rescue was so mad at me . My cat isn't talking. But, he is missing a claw on a back leg( a bloody deep whole) and all of his claws are dull.
When you say dull do you mean "not shiny" or "worn down"?
worn down, soft smooth rounded
@Plant1010J Sounds like he has been trapped somewhere trying to dig out. I hope that he has now recovered from his ordeal and not gone wandering again. Is he speyed?
Or a car ran over the top of him, they try to hang on desperayely but the wind pulls them loose. Least that's what I heard all dull claws means in situations like this. Glad he's home.
and his pads are torn and scabbed up
He must have been digging himself out of something? I hope you get that toe looked at since you don't know where he was. He looks very happy to be home.
He has been so lovey and kissy. He won't stay in a room if I leave it.
If he's not fixed - it's time!
Otherwise just keep him home. Poor guy. Must have been shocked to find a new face in the house. But with a broken heart - I can see why you did that.
If he ever gets out again - a good trick is to put the litter box outside. It helps them find the house. Nose first with cats as well as dogs. They say they aren't usually more than 4 yards away from your own.
However if he's not neutered? No way of knowing.
Dazzle turned 2 in July, he was neutered when he was 4 months old. I did that putting the sand box out and I thank you all for that suggestion.
@Plant1010J Scariest thing that can happen to a cat owner. Hope he's healing well.
thank you. He seems to be healing. Today he was looking at the house across the street when "crazy cat and bird lady" came into her front yard. My cat growled and backed up..his eyes bulging. He left the window and even left the room
I am so happy that your cat came back home. He must have been on some adventure that was just way over his head. Hopefully he stays closer to home from now on.
never going to let him out again. He's back on a leash as required by this complex.
@Plant1010J Any time I let my cats out they were always supervised by me, however, I ended up training them on how to escape outside. Now that I'm back in a large city I do not let them out at all.
