Sad story from North Carolina zoo. Escaped lion killed after killing 22-year old intern.
Someone has to get a law passed that states that the animal has the rights to be itself, if you get in it's way them you are responsible for the act. One would no more run down a rifle range while live fire is happening and then not be responsible for being shot. Being stupid or ignorant is not a value we need.
I'm curious to find out how exactly it escaped.
The bears in Yellowstone. I lived near this Park when I was in college and I would hear of bad things happening. Then traveling to see what was going on one could do nothing but feel for the bears. People are so stupid when around wild animals. You do not put your children on a cub without written permission of the mother, other wise the mother gets pissed. What would you do if a cub was put on the back of one of your children. Walk over a hundred yards off the road to get a close up of a Moose, unless you can run fifty miles an hour this is not recommended, Moose can be quite obnoxious. Walk up to a Buffalo - They get to stomp you just to get even for their previous slaughter. It is called culling the herd, our herd of stupid humans.
Yes, those wild animals need some good counsel and representatives. Thanks.
@OldGoat43 well if you are going to go that far so go the trees other vegetation, other animals, and the rest of everything that is there. I think this is the base for understanding that we are a part of Nature, and that we can get back to it.
At Yellowstone Park I saw people running up to a large male buffalo in the Old Faithful Lodge parking lot. Some were pushing strollers. Had small kids with them. We just stood back to watch natural selection take place.
Problem is, that bison would be put down if it reacted to the chaos and hurt someone. It’s just not right.
@Sydland No it is not right, when the herd gets culled, in someone getting harmed by being stupid, the animal should be congratulated instead of put down. We are invading their space, they are sentient creatures and should be treated as such.
Gees 2nd one in 24 hours? The giraffe that killed a photographer that got too close as well? Not sure if that happened today or another day though. I think that was in Africa. Though the giraffe is fine.
The photographer went out of the prescribed area so it's not considered that the animal did anything it needs to be put down for.
That's so awful. I'm glad the giraffe wasn't put down. An elephant at the refuge in Tennessee killed a worker a few years ago, and the family made a big point about not hurting the animal, that their daughter would have understood the elephant was just being an elephant, and wouldn't have wanted any harm to the animal.
