Love cats; used to show and breed Burmese cats many years ago. This is Emily—-she’s a scairdy cat who hides from everyone. And well traveled as she accompanied me driving from Santa Barbara to Belize and eventually back up to Santa Fe. She was a rescue as a kitten. She is my best friend. I love all animals but something about cats—-smart, independent, and so loving 🥰

Placencia for 4 years (and Maya Beach). Finally had health issues that necessitated moving back to US
@Butterflye I was in San Pedro for a month and San Ignacio for a week on one trip and San Pedro 2 weeks the other trip. I wa lookinng at retiring there, but medical concerns were too much.
@glennlab many who retire there only stay a few years—-it’s so beautiful but even that can get old. I lived on the beach and rarely went to the beach after a while. The photo was the view from my patio.
@Butterflye My second trip was to see if I could retire there, I realized that in a few years I would be just as bored there as anywhere else. At least stateside, i had my medical (VA), no need to always carry a passport, no need to bribe officials to get what I wanted/needed.
My Kiti must be a Burmese mix with white face chest and paws but those dark tiger stripes make her glorious reminders of jungle hunts

Emily is an American shorthair. Burmese look like Siamese but come in more colors—-sable, platinum, etc.
