My 75# Golden was intimidated by my 4 pound kitten. I told him "do the math, she's big enough to be a snack but not ruin your dinner!" He let her literally walk all over him.
We called my dad's sheltie (AKA a miniature collie) "The Omega Dog" because the cats had him totally intimidated.
@snytiger6 That was Chief. I was the Alpha and he was the Omega. He knew his place and accepted it. I trained him that the kids came first. The kitten was a surprise, I didn't expect she would be higher than he was, but he was so good natured about it. He was my heart dog.
I can’t judge because I’m descendant of hunter gatherer and would be totally useless in the wild.

Posted by LaurenIt's my first grand's fifth Gotcha Day and this is her in the arms of my daughter as they drove home.
Posted by LaurenIt would be warmer for us both if he'd get on my lap, but it has to be his idea - though he still likes to stay close.
