True love!

I can't help but wonder what happened to the other kitty. I am too much of a softie and want to adopt them all. That's why I have somebody else get cats for me.

I adopted an asshole bitey cat too. She was all "don't touch me, don't ignore me"; begging for attention, but hating to be pet. We trained each other. When she would bite me, I would VERY GENTLY thump her nose. Needless to say, she didn't like that. One day, to express her displeasure, she gave me a fierce licking ... and got no nose thump. Now she had an acceptable way to say no. I was slower on the uptake, but finally worked out that she was easily overstimulated and that I should confine my petting to just her head and only when she wanted it. We get along just fine now ... mostly. Every now and then, I just can't help myself, and hold her to me and smother her with kisses. She tolerates this with good grace. She doesn't like it, but seems to know I need it every once in a blue moon.

We have a black cat because he was vocal and interactive with my son at the shelter.

Sometimes they pick us. Congratulations.

My black cat Nimitz picked me, and we adored each other. The only thing I regret was that he died at only 16 months old, and the vets couldn't figure out what was killing him.
