Hey Floridians. I hope this isn't inappropriate.. but I have only NYC friends on FB... and very few friends here so.....
I am going to Punta Gorda from Fort Myers to the InkFest event that is from Fri - 9 21 to Sun 9-23.. and I do not drive. I uber every day to and from work and plan to uber there right after work on that Friday.. but should I get a hotel for the weekend or Uber back and forth? The cost seems about the same!!!

Hey Dandewine - I'm about an hour or so north of Punta Gorda - I'm not sure how far that is from Ft. Myers - memory isn't serving me too well these days!. But I think it's a lot shorter distance between Ft. Myers and PG than it is to Sarasota. And by all means, please feel free to add me on Facebook as a Floridian friend! I'll send you the details!

I think I'd follow the more relaxed route and get the hotel...I wish I could tell you something about punta Gorda, but not familiar with the area. I am a native Floridian, but just not my stomping grounds. So tell us about the Ink Fest

Tattoo convention - which I have only 2 kind of modest ones and might get one there - but my favorite musician is performing Friday night - that's why I am really going. Other bands I like too all weekend. I think I'm going do the hotel thing - makes it easier. I know nothing about Punta Gorda except it's about 35 minutes from where I am, so that's why I was wondering if I should just Uber back and forth or get a room somewhere.
