This is SO ME!!!
Why put yourself thru it?
Because I don't want to be a hermit. I can enjoy people in small doses... But I have a problem with events where I have to be present for a prescribed period of time. Dinners, parties, weddings, etc. I feel like a captive audience. It's like social claustrophobia. I don't want to offend anyone so I do it in the name of friendship. But my closest friends know that my motto is "I want to be invited. I just don't want to go."
@TheoryNumber3 Enlightening response. Thanks. Since I spent my entire previous life, uncomfortable but necessary ie school, birthday parties, relative visiting, employment, schedules, etc. I am spending this part of my life exactly as I choose. I am free from all societal requirements & am having the most rewarding virus isolation in my entire life. I am exactly where I want to be. No obligations to anyone or anything except the IRS. I want for nothing & no one. Totally free to follow my own path without any restraint except for wisdom. But that is me.
@Mooolah We're all different.... different needs, different desires. I still enjoy people to a certain extent.... like 5 min at a time
