OH.. This is ME
I have always gotten mad at a particular friend who will say: "could be worse" or gives advice of how to fix it. I always say: "I am not looking for helpful advice and I don't need to have my issue compared to a worse situation, I just need to be heard and just want to know that someone cares"
Now I hear my 28 yr. old daughter saying: " that's not helping". She isn't coming to me for solutions, she just wants to know that someone cares.

I have been consistently gotten INFJ as my Myers-Briggs result over the years and I feel like this definitely describes me. Without some kind of support and empathy to situations in my life, I feel the need to distance myself further from people, feel alone when surrounded by people, become depressed, and find any manner of escapism I can (excessive procrastination, finding something to organize, fantasizing about idealistic worlds, sleeping with the hope of having interesting dreams) then snap back to reality and find it increasingly intolerable.
