Compliments are extremely rare for me, so when they come along I try to embrace them privately for a moment before dismissing them.

I believe I deserve them, but I don't believe they are sincere or that they come from a place of honesty. When directed toward me, they are as meningful as a participation award.

Not the only one, especially compliments on things, or property. All I can usually think then is "Nothing to do with me".

I don't like it when the complements are bullshit and I don't give them unless I really think that they are deserved .

Accepting a compliment is a skill that has to be learned. I think most if us are taught to be modest so even if you're not an introvert it might be hard to take a compliment. Try to smile and say thank you and then leave it at that.

I generally don't like comments unless I agree with them. But I have learned that it is better to just thank them and refrain from correcting them. After all it is just an opinion, maybe not even a real one, but usually given in a sincere attempt to be nice or friendly. So, I take it for its "intent" value. Of course if it rendered in a condescending or ingratiating manner, then they can fuck off.

Complements are awkward. I do all those things or over explain the thing they complimented.
