My goodness, how can it be so cold again? It is 43 degrees here near Lake Ontario. I will have to check on my tomato plants. Leeks and onion sets are not indanger, and the herbs are all very tough, but the tomatoes!
I remember being in Vermont in August many years ago and seeing my uncles whole garden wiped out by a frost .
I save bubble wrap sheets to protect the plants during these cold spells.
For once England is basking in 28C - definitely shorts weather in the garden. Pity it never lasts. Good luck with the toms !
Can you tent them with plastic? Or maybe an old blanket during the night?
They will be planted in straw bales and then tented, if this keeps up.
