Hey Family--

I could use some input, perhaps a little help--
I've lived in my apartment now for 2 years and I've always walked my dogs in the two or three block perimeter of my residence.
Since I transitioned in May '18 I've had homophobic verbal assaults, at least 4 times, including threats to shoot me with an air rifle (pellets).
Each time I've been without my cellphone--I carry it now, everytime-- I have not just turned away, ignoring. I've yelled back at them and I think from their responses they are surprised that I am answering their hate speech. I wonder what they'd do if I tried to ignore them-- follow me? maybe physically assault me or throw something...
The police here would likely arrest me for disturbing the peace if I tried to make a report. I don't trust them and I know of no advocacy program for LGBT community in the police department or anywhere in city hall.
So-- rather than finding a different route to walk my dogs and be put into an ever smaller box in what is supposed to be America, I will take my camera with me-- prepared to document this Homophobic Hate crime from my emboldened white fear americans in my own community. This is a civil liberties issue--
Who would I call? The States Atty General?
