You're being sexist, Rudy, in that first meme, need to be more inclusive...

You seem to have a one-track mind. No, never tell your mother that.

@MissKathleen She knows, to her great chagrin!

@phxbillcee that’s a good mother

@MissKathleen That she is, tho advancing senility is frustrating! (Hers, not mine!)

@phxbillcee it’s a hard time of life...for you both. Enjoy her while you can. When my mother passed, my brother, who lived an hour closer to her than I (who drove 4 1/2 hours to visit her monthly and eventually stayed to the end), said to me, “I didn’t get to say goodbye”. He knew she was sick. I could only respond, “I’ve been saying goodbye for years”. She was my best friend my whole life. None of us need have regrets. Do the right thing, especially when it comes to your parents, if you love them. That’s the ONLY thing they want from you after you leave their home...a little time and a phone call to say, “I’m thinking of you”. Say your goodbyes while you can.

@MissKathleen I'm my Mom's primary caregiver, right now. We live together. Tho she's doing fair physically for 89, mentally she seems to slip faster & faster. We want to keep her in her own home as long as we can, (We being myself & siblings, my Dad has been gone for some time) as she is comfortable here & it gives her at least a semblance of control, which would be lost in a 'facility'. That will be a last resort. I keep my fingers crossed & try to maintain patience!

@phxbillcee It’s tough work, being a caregiver. I hope you have someone who can take the load at least one day a week. If not, I hope you can afford to hire someone soon. Wherever she is mentally now, your mom is/would be proud of you.
