Tie a house key around his neck for next time...
Before the ferals got established in our backyard (when we had more indoor cats) we used to let them out in the yard for a spell. A few you had to sort of shoo in, as we didn't follow their particular schedule for that moment, but one used to jump on the block fence & scurry to the neighbor's yard. Now, she only did this fr like 10 minutes, she knew where her meal-ticket was, she just wanted to show that "You can't tell me what to do!"
The German Shepherd I have now escapes all the time, and makes friends all around the neighborhood. It's gotten to where I have to babysit and keep an eye on him when he goes out to pee. The fence doesn't seem to phase him at all.
Mine used to do that all the time, especially after a night out chasing the bitches
You taught him well!!!
@phxbillcee He knew that before we rescued him, We knew he was our dog when he escaped over the front fence, then jumped the fence back in when the dog catcher came by.
