He was testing them. He is faithful and never gives you more than you can bear.

It was to teach them a lesson. It's more important for them to learn and get into heaven than perish and go to hell.
They sinned and brought this curse on themselves." For the wages of sin is death... "
It's a generational curse.
It's Satan. Satan is always tempting god's people. If they remained steadfast and didn't deny god, then they will reap blessings in heaven.
It is to make them (and their faith) stronger so they can minister to others.
That's because god wants to bless them. Just look at Job.
God works in mysterious ways. Who can know the mind of god?

These are all the ones I've personally been told.
Have I missed any other excuses?
