I have been a dog person all my life. I usually go outside to pee on a bush and have an entourage in tow as I go. I know all to well how dogs work
Yes !!!! Privacy to nothing , once many years ago I tried to close door and they cried like someone decapitated them . ???

How do they cry if their heads are cut off? And you being a medical professional! 
I have gotten used to the potty party. I can remember when my daughter was young she used to come chat with me in the bathroom. Dogs are the same, they just don't ask silly questions
My dog never let's me go to the bathroom alone
