This sign was probably legitimately posted around the 1920s or 1930s. Like anything in New Orleans, though, it is now for sale in several tourist shops as signs, magnets, posters, t-shirts, etc.

From the font and vernacular of the time I'd date the sign about the 50's.

In that way not much has changed...except the vernacular.
