At seeing this meme on FB, I literally reached for my bag of licorice and chomped a few pieces... Before breakfast even.

I loved black licorice when I was young, but it's been many years since tasting it again.

@Robecology . Yes, I have a taste memory of black licorice and I also remember the smell of it while chewing it.
I like red licorice...

That's not licorice. Licorice is an herb with a particular flavor. Red stems are just sugar and water and gelatin, with some red flavoring thrown in.
The FDA should know...
Licorice has a history..it pre-dates chocolate and is naturally sweet.
