Perhaps some altruistic atheist could develop Atheist AA (AAA) Can't help but believe it might be a bigger hit than the old godly AA.

When I decided to quit drinking, I checked out AA. Six of the 12 steps require belief in God or a "higher power". No thanks. I decided to just stop drinking. Five months later, still sober. No God required.

The group was my higher power. It helped me normalize not drinking. I met some good people there. It wasn't about religion at all.
