I was watching a movie called "McFarland" with Kevin Costner, it's about a poor town in Cal. that starts a cross country team. Back when this country first became a country, your neighbors might be 1/4 mile down the road, but you knew them because you needed them from time to time, and they needed you once in a while. Fast forward to today and poor people know their neighbors now for the same reason, they need help to get by sometimes. Middle class people and above don't need their neighbors to get by anymore. We fill our lives full of dumb shit, so we don't have time to get to know our neighbors, even if we wanted to. This is where the disconnect started and it has grown from there. Since the bad shit is easier to believe than the good, here we are.
Well said man, we need to have a sense of community an concern for others again!
