My favourite theory. All of those. When you have something as strong as music, it is quite likely supported by multiple mutually reinforcing causes.

Music is ritualistic and has the pleasant effect of reinforcing feelings of commonality among groups.

It also contains elements that enhance pre, during and post, sexual experiences; those of tension - charge - discharge & relaxation, in similar sequencing.
