lol....hilarious. Such a shame that people are not taught about scientific analysis and statistical methods. It took me till grad school to understand the process and what it takes to perform real scientific studies and properly interpreted data.

You may like to comment on posts in my "Science Teachers( all ages)" group. You seem to understand what is needed . I am trying to make it appropriate to much lower ages and even to the general public.

Thanks for posting this here. I saw it come up recently and he makes a great point about the "abuse" of so-called "scientific studies" by the news media. But I'd like to specify that it's broadcast media that's mostly responsible. Few of these types of occurrences would be found in the reliable print media news sources. It also reminded me of the more recent report that older people (I think over 65 was mentioned) are more likely to be fooled by "fake" news than younger people because older people watch more TV and have been indoctrinated, in a sense, by broadcast media to trusting that source more than younger people. I've always had problems with broadcast media, except for the reliable programming found on PBS.
