Two dazzling Russian opera stars, Aida Garifullina and Dimitri Hvorostovsky singing a easily recognisable traditional Russian folk song at the Grafenegg Summer’s Night Music Festival near Vienna, Austria in 2017. Sadly Dimitri, who had been diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2015, died only a few moths later in London, in November 2017.

My point was that he was almost at the point of death when he gave this performance...still determined to the end. But as you’ve already said you don’t have the time to read anything I write. It was a performance..one expects some kind of showmanship at a performance of this kind...it’s not the local folk club.
