Something from the classical repertoire today…The Tempest - opus 18, by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, based on the play by William Shakespeare. Performed by The Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Swiss Conductor Lorenzo Viotto…highlighting the truly international interconnectivity of music….Russia, England, Netherlands & Switzerland…

What a smooth beginning. Calm seas. After 6 minutes building into a storm. 9.50 calm seas again. at 15 building up.Then at 20 a big rolling sea which calms down

Close your eyes and the music will take you out on those stormy seas…

Love the live performances of this type of music.

Yes…me too.

@Marionville I think what did it for me was a school field trip the class did when I was 11/12 years old. We visited a new library which had just opened so we all joined & borrowed books, then headed over to a live symphonic performance done in the auditorium of the high school. I sat & read a book while listening to the music, & I never forgot it.

@Lilac-JadeCanada It’s certainly left a lasting impression.

@Marionville It certainly did, & I think I was pretty much the only one in my age group to appreciate symphonic music.

@Marionville I even remember the book's title.....The Dauntless''.
