The Welsh are renowned throughout the world for their love of music and song…Calon Lan one of their most famous and beloved Welsh language songs was written in 1890 by Daniel James and John Hughes. Written as a hymn to be sung at chapel in the valleys, in English it means Pure in Heart and is a favourite of Male Voice Choirs such as this one…Dunvant MVC, soloist the renowned bass/baritone Bryn Terfel - at Mynyddbach Chapel, Swansea…the burial place of Daniel James who wrote the lyrics.
