She was a South African national icon…singer and civil rights activist in the 1960s, who popularised African music all around the world…in fact she was known as Mama Africa. I of course mean Miriam Makeba, and here she is performing Mayibayu in Stockholm, Sweden in 1966.

No…I’ve posted that one before, and she did a lot more music that we never usually hear.
