When the Rock in Rio music festival celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2015 they had a poll to find out the act which was the most popular with festival-goers over the 30 years and who they most wanted to return to celebrate at the 2015 festival. The Norwegian band a-ha topped the poll, and as they had in fact drawn the biggest crowd at 198,000 to the 1991 festival, they were naturals to be invited back as guests of honour in 2015. The band had actually retired in 2010 and the three band members were pursuing solo careers and projects when they were approached…they decided the honour was too important to be ignored and they reunited and not only performed at the concert but went on to record and tour again to the delight of their legions of fans on every continent.
