Probably one of the best known pieces of classical music…by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, 1812 Overture. The piece was written to celebrate Russia’s successful defence and defeat of Napoleon and famously included actual cannon shots. This version, the finale, performed by St Petersburg Orchestra & Chorale is played against a background of Napoleonic War paintings by various artists, and scenes from 1970 movie Waterloo.

That must’ve been impressive!
When our age was in the single digits, my best friend & I used to ''sing'' to this music (my mother had it on records) and we had great fun! Wonder how the rest of the household enjoyed those ''la la la la la la las?"
