Van Morrison is a local hero here in Northern Ireland and here he is being honoured in a rendition of his “Days Like This “ by The Rainey Endowed School Choir. This school is in Magherafelt which is about six miles from my home but was filmed at Springhill House a National Trust property which is even closer at 2 miles away.

Van Morrison loved this restaurant and always sat at the same table every visit..which was frequent.
He also had his own waiter which was me.
After hours we allowed him to stay late into the night..one night he pulled out a tape cassette and asked me to play it through..only when everyone had left....
He asked me what I thought of his new album at the end of the night...I was so busy pouring 8 bottles of Crystal Champagne..and taking care of his table...I hadn't been listening...I just said it was sublime...which it probably was...he went on to tell me I was the first proper person to hear it...doh! Cringe!

Yes! I wish I could go back in time..and tune in...but I remember the great experiences of meeting and earning the friendly respect for attention to detail from many celebrities like all the members of U2...and many more...great tips too!

Everyone loves his music.
Indiana is known for this gift to the music scene.
Also he was my first celebrity crush. I had big plans to marry him someday.

@Marionville the unfortunate truth.. when I was young, I never realized the age difference.
Now.. he definitely looks older than me.
That song reminds me so much of small town living, where I was raised, how I was raised.
My dad even played on the high school football team.
