yes! I've always wondered, why is a black hole simulation always a 3d ball, in space, while in drawings of bh over a curved space it's more funnel-like? I mean, isn't a funnel also a 3d object?

well a black hole on a 2d plane would be a round hole but in a 3d world, it would be a black ball (not a funnel). The pic that has be taken will probably look like a swirling cloud of gas. Hopefully we will see the outline of the even horizon.
