Just overheard a conversation:
Lady: Hey, how are you?
Guy: Not too bad. You?
Lady: Pretty good.
Guy: (Totally unprovoked) You know, I was at church the other day...
Lady: (Visibly dies a little)
Guy: ...and when they asked me what I wanted to drink, I said, "Holy water"! (laughs)
Lady: That's funny.
Narrator: It was not funny.
As if small talk wasn't bad enough, you have to make it about church.

We used to play school, play hospital/doctor/nurse, play house.....never played church!

Can't say that I ever played church either. House, school, doctor, fuckin' pretending we were horses, but not church. Maybe I did realize how stupid it is back then. 
@Kynlei Oh yes, I remember being the horse too, even a cat, or dog, but church was a thing to be endured until I could get the hell out & do something, anything else!
I think I would have been tempted to answer with Jonestown Koolaid and waited to see if he got it.
