Opinion piece published by RT re China/ Australia trade relations. A fairly accurate assessment I feel. Diplomacy is sadly lacking nowadays. Don't our politicians understand "saving face" in Asian business or more importantly, don't let partners lose face over, as the author states, doing another nations bidding
To my way of thinking Australia should just say to China, " Be like that, we can easily find a dozen other countries elsewhere that would be only too willing and happy to accept our grain, etc, and the same goes for our Iron Ore and other minerals as well, and in the words of your ancient, back-handed saying, May you live a long and uneventful life."
The Politicians seem so firmly to be under the impression that We need to export to China that they can't see the wood for the trees, unfortunately, and, imo, China has them strung out like marionettes waiting in the wings for the next performance.
It high time that WE told THEM, IF want what we have to offer then WE set the terms and prices, NOT you.
