Lockdown in SA
Our stupid Liberal Government has put in a lockdown, initially 6 days and then some. Talk about overreaction. Don't panic buy they say, and of course the supermarkets are full of people, impossible for social distancing. Can't even go out exercising by yourself from midnight. Now we all have to wear masks for one essential action daily, all for an outbreak in one area. I thought they were handling the virus well, but this is crazy. Long lines of cars waiting at testing places, with car after car of mom and dad and kids panic testing, meanwhile, if you are older and genuinely not well you are hardly likely to wait in a car for hours to get tested. Young people filling up and gutting supermarkets, while older people face the daunting task of trying to get supplies. It's just dumb and ham fisted, for an outbreak that is hardly out of control. No prioritizing, no nuance, but panic policy with advice not to panic. Today they spring this on us, without warning.

Yes I agree that the panic buying of shithouse paper is utterly ridiculous and totally needless,YES, there needs to be better organisation when it comes to Supermarkets, etc in times like these and in future virus outbreaks which, imo, will occur.
And they definitely need to re-consider their arcane ideas re- Testing Stations as well imo.
As to the Dunny paper stampeders and the Supermarkets, well a bit of common sense will go a very long way, ALL Supermarkets can and should a) place limits on BOTH essentials and non-essentials as soon as outbreaks are discovered and the Authorities SHOULD INFORM them as soon as the discover them, b) place limitations on the number of customers who can be in store at the same time, c)have every customer register when entering and then leaving plus have a member of Staff watch the security cameras to see who enters and leaves and ensure that no customer returns in the same day/period of the day and re-purchases the same goods as they left with earlier.
But, imo, the BIGGEST problem by far in this crisis is the Federal Government moaning and whining about the State of the Economy.
I say what good is having a strong economy when there's a virus that has no problems with killing thousands or millions, what happens with your strong economy when there are very few people left to spend money to support it.
Hence, BUGGER the Economy, worry about and support the PEOPLE first and foremost, THEY are Important.

But if you don't spring it on people, then they go out and party it up "on their last night of freedom". The problem is that people are fucking stupid and won't do what's best for them no matter what, not that you have a governing body that leans one way or the other.

Too right mate, too bloody right. I'm sick to the stomach of hearing people doing their 'Moaner Lisa' ( apologies to Leonarda Da Vinci btw) act time after time again. They moan and gripe about Lockdowns, etc, then IF there are were no Lockdowns they'd still moan and grizzle because the Authorities aren't doing their job or enough, IF they get Covid they'd moan and gripe because the Authorities aren't/ do the right job to stop it from infecting them, they moan and grizzle because "Their freedoms have been limited," they whine, grizzle and gripe because they can't take an overseas holiday, etc, etc.
Personally, I reckon some of either LIVE to Moan and Grizzle or would still moan and grizzle if they were farting gold-dust and shitting diamonds.
