LINK Federal election 2022: Can we trust the polls?

No. Don't.

Last Federal election, weeks before i posted an article here called what's the point of the ALP?, or similar. It gutted the ideological emptyness of the ALP. I predicted that the ALP would not win and that polls were meaningless. Come election night and in the 5 minutes i spared to watch the ABC at 7.30 Penny Wong had a sad look but she 'was hopeful', and when I flipped back on at 9.30 she had a face as long as a chinese noodle and talking about 'investigations' into why the vote didn't match the polls. Well, yes, anyone not hooked on meaningless focus groups and ALP anal gazing could see the truth.

So, i say again. Don't believe the polls this year. Australians are smarter, or is that dumber, than pollsters, and a million times more cynical, and they lie like Donald Trump at a press conference.

So, i expect the same this year: 7.30 sad Penny, 9.30 shocked Penny with long face.

My ALP supporting siblings were so shocked next day that the ALP didn't win, and shocked that i was not. I tried to say that i have forgotten all my political science studies and now analyse like a psych guy because Australian psychology is a mess and their voting reflects that and opinion pollsters should look for a new grift.

Prediction: Scumbo will hang on; Fascisto Dutton will roll him, and fuck help us all.
