I would suspect when the history of the children involved is looked into there would be key factors that lead to this.
We are battling to keep one of our ADHD students on the straight and narrow. While he has parents who care about him the culture he has grown up in means he wants to show he is the big man and he is not. Also his way of being the big man is to do all of the wrong things ie drugs, skipping school etc. Not excelling in the areas he is good at and being a leader.
We had to call the police today as we suspected he (at the age of 13) was smoking weed. He has already been getting vapes to sell to other kids.
