When recently I needed to don my garden hat I was quite out of luck: 7 microbats had snuggled in for the day, which became a 5-day visit, at which point they probably had caught up with their mob.

Male and Female Ruby-throated Hummingbirds ... 200+ shots and an hour and a half of standing very still to get only one of each that I like ... worth every minute!

The local paper published two of my bird photos in today's edition! And they only referred to me as a "him" once (presumably because of how my first name is spelled--I get that all the time ?)

I am the beloved choice of mate for an umbrella cockatoo and an african grey parrot. Does anyone else have any psitticine companions, ot have any questions about what living with large birds is all about?

He's nothing fancy or exotic by any means, but this was the best, coolest, funniest, most loyal bird I've ever had. The late, great Squidgeon.

Today, I was lucky enough to observe a raven chasing a bald eagle.

Today I scored a Scarlet tanager and a Prothonotary warbler.

I met a guy today, and I shit you not, who's name was Richard Gobbler.

Some neat birds I encountered while bird-watching, today. There's a female long-tailed duck; a killdeer; a pair of American wigeons; since ring-billed gulls; and my favorite shot of the day, a male kestrel.

One of my favorite hobbies is birdwatching/photography. Here is a Pileated Woodpecker.
