Confessions of a Closet Agnostic Theist - me, et al

Yes, I admit it. But then I'm a godhead myself...let me explain...

I was a HUGE D&D fan and gathered anyone who'd play my games with gods I'd concocted myself. I was creating pantheons with the help of some of my players, who'd I'd ask to create their own gods. (1st photo)

This brings me to my first conclusion as a writer of interactive fiction (see my top two pinned posts for such a game in "Tales from the Last Inn"). A god is as real as the believer believes it to be. While this was most evident as the players played, those who were most captivated by it told me they continued to consider how to create and 'interact' with these gods while not playing.

Still, these players would laugh if I were to tell them do what this god tells you to do in the real world. Yet this is what most people do daily based on various collections of ancient, nomadic Middle Eastern 'mystics' conflicting texts they sold as the word of Gawd! (2nd photo)

How these have been refined and redefined to dupe the populace so successfully to this very day is beyond me, but these not so ancient writings have presented us with the most destructive gods humankind has ever somehow survived...but was this the god or...

A god may be defined as the total of behaviors of its believers as a direct result of of their belief in said god

Since most of the world's believers believe in some form of Yahweh (henceforth known as 'Yeah-Way'), and seeing there are many versions of said god throughout Xianity, Islam and Judaism taken as a whole it is actually several 'jealous gods' fighting amongst themselves since they've managed to destroy (the believers in) most others.

Finally, there are the many god theories stemming from the supposition that god is the sum total of the universe or omniverse and many other such as yet unprovable but not entirely refutable theories. Don't get me started...this is too long already! Of them all I lean toward Pantheism, here most simply described as the force from Star Wars. (3rd photo)

Did I mention I'm a Jedi? I'm not even sure which sect I'm in since we 'splintered' into several sects some years ago. Yet I can't help but think perhaps, a long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....

Nah, even with all this I'm an Spiritual Humanist (priest), a Dudeist (same) but mostly an apatheist. I thoroughly enjoy considering all these possibilities but in the end I don't know and don't care...

...unless we're talking about a god I created...maybe.
