This quote from Jamil Smith, and others, is telling, "That is a sickening capitulation on her part. You don’t stop racism by giving in to racists".
But isn't that what the Democratic Party does? They keep giving in to Republican legislation and whatever they want. They keep submitting to Republican ideologies bit by bit all the time to "work with the Republicans" on issues. The Republicans aren't "working with Democrats" on their ideologies. They are out for their own ideologies and nothing else. Democratic Party voters wonder why so many people don't vote or want to vote for 3rd parties. This is part of why. The Democratic Party doing this is tantamount to being conservative Republicans and supporting conservative Republican ideologies, knowing that the Republicans don't want to work with them. So why would the Democratic Party think they can "work with Republicans" to get through liberal ideologies? They know better than that so my only analysis on it is that the Democratic Party is complicit in establishment politics. Why is that so hard for some people to see?
