Corporations See a Different Kind of “Green” in Ocasio-Cortez’s “Green New Deal”
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s “Green New Deal” initiative was unveiled on Thursday and quickly became the target of disingenuous ridicule from both sides of the aisle. But as Whitney Webb highlights in this Dec 18, 2018 piece, there are very serious reasons to be concerned.
What they aren't saying is louder than what they are saying. Over the last few weeks I have posted a number of Sludge articles of those in the democratic party who take money from the fossil fuel industry who will play a large part in the "plan" GND being discussed. Also a couple explaining the lack of talk between clean energy and renewable energy. I have little doubt this talk will be dragged out past the 2020 election cycle in which it will then be shot down in flames by those heading the committees who depend on funding from those fossil fuel corporations. I may be wrong of course. But the limitation of success is already being rooted in the plan by allowing these corporations to be involved. The results are always the same when you allow corporations to be involved with legislation being directed at them. Energy corporations just as health care corporations always end up winning over the people.

Several members of the Senate Energy and Environment committees collectively own millions of dollars worth of stock in companies such as Chevron, Exxon, and ConocoPhillips.
